It's not that people can't do it. Just it takes a lot to do it 30 times, seems far out of reach of most. Time + Good Ping + Skill + Luck. Emphasis on good ping and skill.

You can give me a ring as well if there's a mini beetle party going on anywhere.

Fantanastic was the ringleader of the party, so you can add him and give him a ring if you see him online.

Will do thanks. Btw, I saw you hanging on the #100 spot, I can only imagine how you must have felt the last couple hours of the race...

Well see, when I first got the score on friday, I was like #20ish... It was very very unnerving watching my score just plummet. Last night it was like #76 and when I woke up this morning it was #88. I didn't log on until like after the event was over though, so it wasn't too scary. Someone told me though that I was #99 at 2:58 est and it dropped to #100 at 3:01... WOW.

Just letting all those interested in attending the next rollerbeetle gathering :P
We are planning on doing it THIS FRIDAY. Yuris + Beli can make it any time (they are euros + run +5 hours than eastern ). We are going to plan on doing it anywhere between 8-10 PM eastern ( 5-7 PM PST ) for about 1 hour. At this time, anyone that HAS A minipet beetle will be told what town + district ( or guild hall if we do it at a GH again ) to go to.
Add me to friends list, tell me if you are interested ( you MUST HAVE A BEETLE for access to the event ).
After i discuss times with the 'crew' as i call it xD we will pop out a time that works for most time zones.
Good gaming!

Yeah. The unfortunate part is this exact problem occurred last year too. If only the programmers weren't so busy with GW2 they could spend some time fixing it.
P.S. Gaile said it wasn't a 1-liner fix. So yeah, it would've taken them longer than just a couple free minutes.

Actually only 54 were given out this year to be precise. Don't know about last year though.

i cant believe that all of the anet team are so blindly dedicated to gw2 they couldnt do some code fixes that would probably take a few hours at most.
such a lame excuse, and its become the cookie cutter default whenever we ask for anything.
we were told previously the devs split into two teams, working on 2 chapters at once. surely the same kind of setup is possible, even at a smaller scale.
dont they have coders who only do fixes?
i should point out i didnt compete in a single race over the weekend, but that doesnt mean i cant see when a clear error on anets part has been made

So many sore losers....
Perhaps it would be better if these races were like a title. You need to complete 250,000 races to get a reward. I guess that would be more in line with current expectations of GW population.
Because apparently skill now means cheating.

I was able to get ~ 465k everytime with no super or echo. Just dont go through water.... durr.
I also find this lame that one of the races where I was lucky enough to get a super in the few boxes that I grab and I got 475,750. No beetle for me which I find VERY unfair after at least 500 straight races. I played for almost 2 days straight and talked to many people before I learned all the moves.
Why was it only given to top 100 when more than half of the names were repeats? I feel cheated for all of my hard work.

As a racer that played, I don't know, probably close to 500 or more races this weekend alone it is not cheating or pure luck that gets you into the top score. I was able to start out first in practically every race and finish first almost every time once I learned all the techniques. After that all you were hoping for was a super or an echo and super within the first couple of boxes. In that situation then you were set on going for a high score. If there weren't so many "rude" players out there who felt the need to use Distracting Lunge or a blast on you when you're on the beach and clearly on the way for a high score and they have no chance of winning the race, I would have had a lot better of a chance. Anyway, I'm content with the 2100 or so gamer points I made over the weekend but I'm still frustrated that the ACTUAL top 100 winners don't get the prize which is what it seemed like was going to happen based on the NPC's text.
I also wanted to state that I had a lot of lag also, as did everyone. Even though my ping was green you still rubberbanded a lot. You just had to watch the top 3 players and if you were in first but your name wasnt, then hit spacebar to find out where your beetle really was. Same thing works in HA when you're running relics.

I know how you feel, my score was a little higher than that even and I to just barely didn't make it onto the list. The whole thing is absurd. No competition in the right mind should be set up so that one person can earn multiple spots in a race. It's fine that they keep track of the top 100 scores but that's not what the prizes should be based off of. It should be the top 100 racers like the rewards NPC says. I'm very disappointed. I spent the entire weekend to try and get into the top 100 and to get shut out because of a problem that Anet had a year to fix!? Unbelievable. Something needs to be done...

I only roller beetled once and came in last place, so any QQ accusations can stop now
On that note, I DO believe every player should've only been allowed to be on the list once (fairer)
But I would also like to say grats to those who got the beetles<3 Moving with the W-A-D keys proved too hard for this new gamer

I don't know about the other placers, but I prefer auto-run (R) + mouse-look turning + Q and E for strafing (easier to hit 1-3 for skill use that way).

Im so mad, I had a race once where I echo'd a superbeetle, and got another superbeetle, but I was still very new to the racing, so I screwed up using them all, that would have helped me SOOO much.

I was top 100 last year and top 100 this year, and no second beetle, and i think some others that are in top 100 with the same char as last year haven't gotten a second beetle too.
So there were definitely less then 54 beetles given out.
